AKC DNA Profiled
Twiggy is a reddish brown 23 inches (and still growing) girl that is a year old

A Walker x Brier Puppy
I have been holding out on a pup until just the "right" girl came to me.  I had hoped that when I bred Walker and Brier together that I would get a nice girl to follow in Walker and Brier's pawprints.  "Twigs" was the largest girl in a litter of 11...seven girls and four boys.  I was very fortunate to have had LOTS of choices when I was picking her out.
She had all of the things I was looking for, she was easy going, calm, willing to learn, and seemed to take things in stride.
When I started training her in obedience and agility I KNEW that I had made the right choice.   She is EVERYTHING that I wanted!
Look for Twigs to hit the show ring in the upcoming months; and when old enough she's going to be an agility STAR!

Twigs at South Eastern Wildlife Expo doing Dock Dogs

Twigs' TRUMPETS!

2010

February 12-14- My husband and I went down to Charleston, SC to the South Eastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE) to do Dock Dogs with Twigs and Reid.  The girls sire and dam are pretty big jumpers and so I had high hopes that they were going to follow in their parents pawsteps.  When we left NC it was FREEZING cold with snow still on the ground.  When we got to Charleston, the weather was not much better, sans the snow on the ground. The girls had not been swimming since early October (so basically HALF their lives!) freezing cold water and freezing cold air and rain I was starting to worry if they would even go back IN the water after their first jump.  Indeed, Twigs needed a little more time to get used to being in the water (and unfortunatly, they only have 90 seconds to get it done!) so the first day, out of the 4 jumps, she did not jump two of the four times.  Saturday we missed the first jump because there was SNOW on the ground and it was just too cold for me (after playing in the rain the day before and being just FROZEN) but once we got there, Twigs started really catching on and jumped further each time she got on the dock!  By Sunday, she was not lolly-gagging as much as she had been on Friday and Saturday and she was catching up to her sister in the distance that she was jumping.  Twigs finished the weekend jumping six of the eight jumps entered and earned her Dock Dogs Novice Jumper- National title!

February 5-7- What an exciting weekend!  I took Twigs and Reid with me down to Georgia to do an UKC show.  I showed Twigs in the Bred by Exhibitor class and out of the six shows, she took Best Female and Best of Breed four of the six shows!  That earned her UKC show Champion!  That is exciting, but what was even more exciting, Twigs placed in Groups each time she was in the ring beating out dogs that were over three years of age!  Not to bad for a puppy that is just 8 months old and showing at her first "real" shows!  All in all she got a Group 2, a Group 3, another Group 3 and a Group 4.  Each time she beat out other Gun Dog breeds in a very competitive group of dogs!  I am pretty proud of my girl!
She now gets to go against "the big dogs" in the Champion class to try to earn her Grand Champion title!

2009

September 27- Woo-hoo!  I KNEW this was the girl for me!  She has so many of her mother's and father's good attributes that when I picked her...I knew I was going to have a fine pup on my hands!

Twiggy, Reid, and I traveled down to Greer, SC to a sanctioned "B Match."  A "B Match" is basically a "fun show" that doesn't carry any points.  For me, it is a good way to get the girls out and have them in a "show setting" without having to worry if they embarrass me from their antics!  Besides, they are just 4 months old, so it is not like they are really ready to go into the show ring and compete with "the big dogs!"

The Greenville Kennel Club had their match first.  I handed Reid off to a gal who owns Chesapeakes as pets.   Too bad I could not show both of them!  We went around and stacked the girls up and in the end, Twigs was Best of Breed!  So we got to go into the Sporting Group ring with other really nice puppies.  Twigs got beaten out by a REALLY nice Welsh Spring Spaniel and a VERY mature looking Golden Retriever and came out with a very respectable Group 3 ribbon!  Way to go Twigs!

For the Clemson Kennel Club show later in the day, it was almost the same scenario.  I passed Reid off to the same lady and I showed Twigs (I plan on NEVER showing them together at the same show...I do not think it would be "fair" to either one of them).  Around we went and Twigs was the Best of Breed again.  In Groups the same very nice Welsh Springer took Group 1 and then a very cute Flat Coat took Group 2 and Twigs took Group 3!  Consistency is KEY!

I am very proud of my girls!  They did so well for their "first" show!

They were doing a Canine Good Citizen test there and I tried to get the lady to test the girls, but she insisted that they had to be 6 months of age.  BUMMER.  I know they don't HAVE to be that old, but why argue...maybe we can find somewhere else to get the girls tested...
