Whiskey Creek Chesapeakes
Breeding Plans

DSC_0282_edited.JPG

ALL puppies sold from Whiskey Creek will carry the Whiskey Creek prefix in the dogs registered name.
All puppies sold from Whiskey Creek are microchipped (AVID), have dew claws removed and come with all AKC papers in order and all registration fees paid.
Puppies will be exposed to birds, gunshot, water (weather permitting), and situations outside of the farm.
Puppies will be wormed and innoculated according to my vets specifications.
Puppies will be fed a raw meat diet.

We feel that breeding dogs is a serious undertaking.
We feel that the Chesapeake is one of few retriever breeds that still remains true to its roots of being a dog that can be hunted one day and shown the next.
Therefore, if a dog is to be sold as a "breeding" animal we feel that he/she should prove itself in the many venues that Chesapeakes excel in which include showing in the conformation ring, performing in hunt tests and/or field trials, agility, obedience (rally and traditional), tracking,
or any of the other activities that are offered by the AKC, UKC, or the Canadian KC (CKC).

Dogs sold as "pet" or "companion" puppies will be sold with "limited registration" (non-breeding) papers through the AKC.

Dogs sold as "breeding stock" will be sold on a co-owner agreement with the breeder.
No dog will be allowed to be bred until ALL health clearances (OFA, CERF, and preferably PRA) are in order.
No dog will be allowed to be bred if it has not acquired some sort of a title.

Chesapeakes are a wonderful breed of dog, but they are not for everyone.
Please make sure you have done your research before committing yourself and your family to owning one of America's oldest breeds of dogs.

Planned Breedings
Please contact Kathy for more information.

We are not planning any breedings in 2010
as we are wanting to concentrate on doing what
Whiskey Creek Chesapeakes
do best...COMPETING!

We have BIG plans for the year 2011 though!
We are hoping to breed THREE litters...
Breedings will happen early Spring through early Fall.
Who gets bred when depends on Mother Nature;
as of APRIL 2010 ALL THREE girls are in heat!
I will NOT breed more then one litter at a time,
so let's hope next springMother Nature spreads the girls heat cycles out a little more!

Brier
Brier is slated to be bred to a dog whos sire is one of the most influential dogs
in most modern pedigrees for producing offspring that are titled in field trials,
hunt tests, conformation, as well as obedience and other venues.
This dogs grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are also doing impressive things in a variety of venues.

I am honored to breed Brier To this exceptionally fine dog.
Potential buyers of this breeding are going to need to have had titled Chesapeakes
in high levels of performance or hunting titles and preferably also titling dogs in conformation.
I am expecting dogs with very nice conformation and high drive retrievers

and exceptional performance animals that are pleasurable to live with.
Pictures and more info to come closer to the time I am going to be breeding her.
Puppies will be PRA "clear," will be either a "carrier or clear" for DM, and will NOT be "affected" with EIC.
Taking deposits NOW for a March/April 2011 breeding, pups ready to go May/June 2011.

Reid
Reid is slated to be bred to a beautiful "clear" dark deadgrass male.
I have been looking for a nicely bred deadgrass girl to add to my kennel,
but since I can't seem to find one... it looks like I'll be breeding for one!
I think I have found a REALLY nice deadgrass boy
that fits all that I am looking for in a dog...
CH Towerview R Big Lone Ranger
is the lucky dog that I have chosen!
The pedigree on this litter speaks for itself!
Conformation, drive, and high learning ability are expected from this breeding.
Please click here for more information!
Puppies will be PRA "clear," DM "clear," and puppies will NOT be "affected" with EIC.
I AM taking deposits on this breeding, but please note, I DO NOT know exactly when the breeding is going to take place!!!
I hope to breed her in the spring/summer of 2011.

We are currently looking for a dog to breed Twiggy to that fits our stringent criteria
for dogs we will use on our girls.  We hope to find one that we feel complements
Twiggy's fine attributes as well as a dog that proves to be as well rounded as Twiggy.
We think we have found one that will work for her,
please check back towards the end of September for the latest update.
The fellow we are looking at is conformationally very nice,
he is a proven hunter (he has his Senior Hunter title with AKC),
and his health clearances are all in order including hips, elbows, and all genetic clearances (PRA, EIC, and DM).
