Just as soon as I brought Chaamp down to my place back in January 2011 to show
him in conformation and obedience and saw Reid and Chaamp running in my fields together I knew that this was going to be a
breeding that would be very complementary to both dogs!
About Chaamp:
"Clear"
Deadgrass/light brown in color
22 inches tall
About 75 pounds
"Chaamp"
is a laid back love of a dog. He is a very "go with the flow" kind of guy. He is one of few living Chesapeakes
that has earned a conformation Championship title as well as a Master Hunter title! Chaamp also has his Rally Advanced
title and lacks one leg for his Rally Excellent title.
Chaamp sired his first litter of puppies in August and I am getting very positive
feedback about them!
About Reid:
Reddish Brown in color
21 inches tall
About
55 pounds
Reid
was my husbands pick puppy out of the Walker x Brier breeding.
A "wild" girl that has a zest for life. Her antics can get her in trouble at times, but they are easy to forgive
once she flashes her toothy Chessie grin! Reid is what I consider my "throw back" Chesapeake possessing some of
the traits (one person oriented, reserve around new animals, physically tough) that you hear from the "old timers"
in the breed.
I have been told several times that she also
"looks" like a lot like the "old timey" Chesapeakes.
Reid, like her sister Twiggy, had a quick UKC
show career. As a young pup she took TWO Best Puppy In Specialty Show wins (U-MBPISS) and then went on to earn her UKC CH
title with several Group 1 placements. In 2010 Reid was ranked #3 in UKC's "Top Ten" of conformation Chesapeakes
and was not only titled in conformation, but in rally (U-RO3) and dock diving (U-JJ) through UKC! Reid was tied for second
(against her sister Twiggy) for earning UKC's Rally Level 3 title being beaten out only by her mother, Brier! Reid currently
has 3 of the 5 wins needed to earn her UKC Grand Championship title.
In
AKC venues Reid currently has 14 Championship points. She has three majors, one being a Best of Winners during a Supported
Entry weekend. Reid currently has her Rally Advanced title (RA) and has one leg (taking a 1st place at the Chesapeake
National Show Specialty) towards her Rally Excellent title.
Reid
is currently in training for AKC and UKC hunt tests.
This will be Reid's first breeding.
Puppies from this litter will genetically CLEAR for PRA, DM, and EIC
