NEW UKC Senior (dock) Jumping CHAMPION!!! U-SJCH, U-RO2, U-AG1, U-CD, U-BISS, U-CH**, Am CH Whiskey Creek's Greenbrier
RAE, NAF, OA,
AXJ, SJ-N, CGC AKC
DNA Profiled Brier is a four year old,
65 pound, 22 inches, brown female.
Beauty, Brains, and Versatile!
Brier and I have had a lot of fun training for showing in conformation, rally, obedience, and agility.
For those
that say a dog can not show in conformation and at the same time train in other sports or activities... take a look at Brier's accomplishments
at the bottom of this page. She is exactly what a good Chessie should be like...versatile! Brier is by far one of the most versatile titled living
Chesapeakes that I know of, boasting 20 titles and she and I are still working towards goals of earning several more titles! Brier has had one fabulous litter by my dog Walker and we have plans to breed her again in 2011. She just turned four years
old in June 2010. There
is a bright future for Brier and me!

August 2010 Brier and "the gang"
(Walker, Twiggy and Reid) drove up for the one day UAD "Bristol Family Fun Night" jump. Fun is what is all
about! BUT this year we had a somewhat "different" twist to the event...it was POURING! That did not
stop us from doing four competition jumps and the finals for points towards her GRAND Champion Senior Jumper title and possibly
a new title of "Master Jumper!" I should find out just as results are posted!
July 2010 Brier and I went to Perry, GA to compete in an
AKC agility trial. We stayed with Amanda and her super Havanese "Dasher" the wonder dog! Bri earned
her Excellent Jumpers title (AXJ) title with a fourth place on her second leg and a "Q" for her third and final
leg! It has been a LONG dry spell for agility titles for Brier and I, so it was such a thrill to get back to back "Q's!"
Maybe with some extra training for more consistent contacts, we will get our Excellent Standard title and then on to our Master
titles. For right now, we are going to take a break, work those contacts, and get back into the obedience ring!
I am definitely seeing some "buggers" coming out since we having not been working our obedience like we use to!
Brier, along with Walker and their daughters Reid and Twiggy participated in the
Bele Chere Ultimate Air Dogs event in Asheville, NC This is Brier's and my third year jumping at this trial and every
year it gets more and more exciting! Not only did I have my four personal dogs entered, but another Brier baby "Trout"
was there as well. Man what a jumper he is! We did fairly well, I was schooled by Trout's owner "Pat"
on a new way to throw and got throwing lessons (anyone who has seen me throw knows I am DANGEROUS and one heck of a BAD thrower!)
and Brier was getting more air then ever before! She was jumping into the 22 foot range! WOW! We had enough
points in the Senior jumping class from this years competition and the competitions from last year to earn out 150 points
towards our Senior Jumper CHAMPIONSHIP title with UKC! We also were jumping out of the Senior class and into the Master
class...so we are now earning legs towards our Master Jumping title! March 2010 Brier, Reid, Twigs and I drove up to Ohio
to show at an UKC Rally trial. Brier finished out the one leg needed for her Rally Obedience Level 1 (U-RO1) and then
earned the 3 legs needed to earn her U-Rally Obedience 2 (U-RO2). This was a great trial and I hope to get back to it
in the future!
********************************************************************** Brier finished 2009 as the #2 Chesapeake in UKC All
three Whiskey Creek Chesapeakes that finished in the Top Ten had additional
titles other then just a show CH title! **********************************************************************
********************************************************************** Brier has earned SEVEN titles in the year 2009 with limited showing! She earned (in order) U-CD, SJ-N, NF, U-AGI, U-SJ,
U-BISS, OAJ, OA Not too shabby for a girl who also whelped a BEAUTIFUL litter of 11 puppies! *********************************************************************
November 2009 Brier her two babies (Twiggy and Reid) and I went down to stay with Marie and the babies Uncle Nick
(a full brother to Walker!) to go to the Beaufort Kennel Club agility trial. Next to the Concord, NC venue- I LOVE this
place (Rose Dhu Plantation). A lot of the exhibitors do not like it as it is on sand, but for some reason Brier just
LOVES this footing and I am pretty partial to it to! Of course I love coming down and spending time with Marie and Nick,
so that makes it just that much more fun! Friday Brier earned her Open Jumpers title by earning 100% and a first place!
She also got a "Q" in her Open Standard class- again, with a 100% and a first place! On Saturday she just
really did not seem into being there and we did not do good in either of our classes. But on Sunday she came back out
(even with a mild case of cold tail!) to earn a score of 95 and a first place in Open Standard for the title! Thanksgiving Weekend we drove back and fourth to the Clemson, SC Canaan Dog agility trial where she was the
only Excellent "A" 20 inch dog to earn her Jumpers leg. This is her first "Q" in Excellent and I
am pretty excited that we are started on the path to our goal!
October 2009 Again I had Brier, Walker, and Willow out this time to a UKC Specialty show. What a FUN
day we had! And what a GREAT way to spend a day! Brier earned herself a Best In Show Specialty title (U-BISS) and
one leg towards her Grand CH title! Winning a Best In Show Specialty is such a THRILL! Then a few weeks later
we went to another UKC show where Brier picked up two more Grand Champion wins. She now has 3 of the 5 wins needed
for her UKC Grand Champion title!
September 2009
I took Bri, Walker, and Wills out again (no easy feat to have THREE Chessies in tow!) this time to do a UKC show for conformation,
obedience and rally. Brier was just entered in conformation and rally. UKC rally is a new venue and you all know
how much *I* enjoy rally! Bri really did VERY well! She took BOB/Grand CH in BOTH shows on Saturday and even managed
to earn a GROUP 3! Woo-hoo! This was Brier's first Group placement! Way to go Bri! She then competed
in RO1 and earned a score of 99/100 and came in second! On Sunday she took a BOB/Grand CH and then went on to earn a
GROUP 2! How WONDERFUL! She then zoomed over to the Rally ring where she earned a perfect score of 100 (YES!)
but still only came in second only to be beaten out by time by our good friends Becky and Vamp! Way to go girls!
You two did a GREAT job! August 2009 Bri, Walker, Wills, and I along with Becky and Border Collie Vamp went up to "Bristol Family Night" and
participated in a UAD jump. Brier racked up some points towards her UAD Champion Senior Jumper title. She came
in Second overall for the Senior division, just to beaten out by Walker! July
2009 SHE'S BACK! After being out of ANY type of competition for over four
months, I pulled Brier out for her first competition since she had her litter of ELEVEN puppies! We competed in Ultimate
Air Dogs dock jumping and she finished up her United Senior Jumper (USJ) title! Brier and I hope to continue competing
and hope to earn her CHAMPION Senior Jumper (UCHSJ) title in the near future! Watch for us at the next UAD event!
May 2009 CONGRATS
Brier and Walker! A healthy, BEAUTIFUL litter of 11 puppies! Born 13 May 2009. As a breeder I could not
be any happier! Brier is doing a GREAT job of mothering them and I can not wait to see how they grow up and mature!
March 2009 Brier and I snuck out to Apex, NC to do mine and our first UKC agility trial. UKC agility is FUN!
It is totally different then AKC agility. They have different rules and even different and interesting equipment.
The "problem" with this is that Brier and I have never even SEEN UKC agility equipment much less been ON it!
We signed up
for AGI and AGII. We did EXCEPTIONAL in AGI (equivalent to Novice Standard in AKC). We placed each time we went
into the ring (3rd, 1st, and 4th). And since we placed three times, we actually earned our first UKC agility title! Now as for AGII...not so good.
Remember, we have never SEEN some of this equipment. We were fortunate enough to be able to do a walk through where
Bri and I could get on the equipment ONE time before we ran the course, but learning new stuff in that amount of time just
did not work too well. The surprising thing is, the equipment that I thought that we would not do too well in, we did
great. By the third trial she was actually doing GREAT on all of the equipment, she just failed because of ONE piece
that she just could not grasp the concept of. Hey, all in all...I was pretty thrilled with how well she did and I can not wait to go back to a UKC
trial and do it all over again! Brier is taking a little hiatus for awhile as we wait to see if she is bred to my boy Walker.
Check back as we will know 10 April! P.S.- Brier was INDEED bred to Walker at the time that she ran at this trial...so
not only did she do a great job running, her "babies" earned their first title as well! In utero agility anyone?!?!
{wink}
February 2009 This
summer Brier and I tried our hands (or is that paws?) at dock jumping with Ultimate Air Dogs and Brier did pretty darn good
for her first event. This year I decided that I would like to try to get her into more Dock Jumping so we took off to
our first event with DOCK DOGS which is a different association, but the same concept. So Brier and I took off to go
to the Southeastern Wildlife Expo where there was a jumping event. All I entered her in was the actually "how far
can your dog jump out" event what they call "Big Air." There are other events such as "Extreme Vertical"
and "Speed Retrieve" but we decided to just stick with the Big Air since this was our first time. She did
pretty good and is fairly consistent jumping between 18 and 19 feet. Her biggest jump for the weekend was 19.8 feet.
She jumped her way into earning a Senior Dock Diving title (SJ-R)! Our last event before Brier comes into heat is the Beaufort Kennel Club agility
trial which was Feb 20-22. This was the first year of the trial and it was SO much FUN! The trial was the smallest
trial I had ever been to (about 20 dogs in the Open classes) which gave the trail a more "homey" feel to it.
Friday Brier jumped her way into a first place finish in her last leg needed for her Novice FAST title. Then the blazed
through the Open Jumpers class and earned another first place title. Saturday we also jumped our way into another first
place win for our second Open Jumpers leg and on Sunday after having some "contact" issues in our Standard classes,
Brier earned her first leg in Open Standard and it was a first place finish as well! She had a GREAT weekend! This
is our last event for a while. I am waiting for Brier to come into heat and she will be bred to my boy Walker.
As always, check back for the latest updates!
January 2009
Needing one more leg towards our U-CD title we headed out to Durham, NC and stayed with "Wilbur's" owner Laurie
P for the weekend. Having given Brier a LONG break from training, I did not know what to expect. We went into
the trial with an open mind and hoping that we would take away the nice breed prizes that were donated (THANKS Becky J!) for
High In Trial (HIT) Chesapeake. With a few bobbles on the off lead heeling we managed to get our last needed
leg for our U-CD title and earned the HIT award that was offered! HOW EXCITING! This is MY first obedience
title and it was made that much better by earning the HIT award! Many thanks to Laurie for having Brier and I and many thanks to Becky for the prizes
you generously offered to the Chesapeakes. The both of you are GREAT! After Brier comes off maternity leave (sometime in May?!?)
then we hope to attempt our CDX title!

*********************************************************************************************** Brier was
ranked #5 Chesapeake Bay Retriever in 2008 for UKC's final breed rankings! ***********************************************************************************************
November
2008 After a long hiatus from doing competitions, Brier and
our good friend Dina and her Havanse headed out again to the winter Concord, NC cluster. Let me say it again...I LOVE
this venue! The agility set-up is just great! The Obedience is in it's own building (so few distractions) and
conformation is also in it's own building. On Thursday Brier earned her Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title.
This title consists of earning a qualifying leg ten times in both Rally Excellent and Rally Advanced on the same day.
We had been going to local trials throughout the last few months picking up legs when there was a trial close by the house.
I have been busy whelping out pups, so traveling has been sort of on the back burner with Brier and I. I had entered
Brier for the Friday Rally trial as well just as a "buffer" and she earned an "extra" leg for her RAE
title. Maybe we will try for an RAE2 title! Between the Excellent and Advanced classes we ran our last and titling
leg for her Novice Jumpers with Weaves (NAJ) title in agility! Now it is off to earning our Novice Obedience (CD) title
and attempting the Open classes in agility!
July 2008 Brier and I headed
out with our dear friend Dina and her three Havanese from Performance Havanse based in Baton Rouge, LA and went to the four
day trial in Concord, NC- home of the AKC National Invitational Agility Competition. WOW! The artificial turf
was FABULOUS and I plan to be back there in November to compete! Anyway, Brier came home from that show with two legs
in her Novice Jumpers and Weaves class! Two down...one to go!Brier and I competed in a dock jumping contest the last weekend of July. On
her first competition jump Brier splashed her way to a 18.5 foot jump! She ended up with a personal best of 19
feet 5 inches! She has found yet another activity that she just LOVES to participate in! So many activities, so little time!
June 2008 Brier and I had a fun weekend up at the Western North Carolina Ag Center where
we competed in the Asheville Obedience Club Agility Trial. Brier has needed only one leg to earn her Novice Standard
Agility title for a while. She has really not been out competing very often (we have only been out one other weekend
before this) so I was really excited that we got this last leg this weekend! Now we will keep trying for the elusive
Novice Jumpers with Weaves title!
March 2008 Almost a year after her last AKC conformation show, I entered Brier in an UKC conformation show
where she earned her UKC Championship title. She also earned her first of three legs towards her UKC U-CD title.

*********************************************************************************************** Brier was
ranked by Front and Finish as the #1 Chesapeake Bay Retriever in Rally Excellent A for the 2007 year! ***********************************************************************************************
November 2007 Brier
earned a second place and her second "Q" in her Novice Standard agility. Brier earned a new name at this trial..."The
Social Butterfly." Needless to say, Brier is loving competing in agility!
October
2007 Brier got a third place ribbon and her first "Q"
in Novice Standard in agility. This was my very first experience in agility and it was SO much fun! I think I am addicted!
I enjoy doing rally, but agility is MUCH faster paced and Brier seems to shine while in the ring...now only if I can just
keep up with her!
August 2007 Earned her last leg and a third place (score of 97) for her last and final leg
for her Rally Excellent title!
June 2007 Earned two first place ribbons (scores of 97 and 98) towards her Rally Excellent
title!
May 2007 Earned her last and final point needed to complete her CHAMPION title.
April 2007 Took Best of Breed all three days at the Montgomery shows from the Puppy 9-12 month
class.
March 2007 Earned her last leg for her Rally Advanced title. She earned a third place for
one of the legs during this months competition. Brier was 8 months old when she earned this title.
February
2007 Earned her two needed majors towards her Championship
title. Earned all three legs for her Rally Novice title. Her first day of competing in Rally she earned a score of 99/100
beating out 23 other competitors for the second place win! Earned one leg towards her Rally Advanced title. She placed first
out of a class of 9 with a score of 99/100. Brier was 7 months old.
January
2007 Entered her first show where she took the point and went
Best of Winners out of the Puppy 6-9 month class.
October
2006 Took "Best in Show Puppy"
at the Hendersonville B Match. Earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate at FOUR months of age!
