Inquiries welcome

I have been holding out on a pup until just the "right" girl came to me.  I had hoped that when I bred Walker and Brier together that I would get a nice girl to follow in Walker and Brier's pawprints.  "Twigs" was the largest girl in a litter of 11...seven girls and four boys.
I was very fortunate to have had a LOT of choices when I was picking her out!
She had all of the things I was looking for, she was easy going, calm, willing to learn, and seemed to take things in stride.
When I started training her in obedience and agility I KNEW that I had made the right choice.   She is EVERYTHING that I wanted!
She is proving to be just as wonderful as her beautiful and successful mother Brier.
Like Brier, Twiggy is proving that Chesapeakes CAN be BEAUTIFUL, SMART, and WILLING to do anything that they are trained to do!

The older Twiggy becomes, the more I appreciate this girl.
She reminds me SO much of her Grand-dam "Sydney."
Twigs got the best of the best from her Grand-dam...
She is sensible, serious but fun loving, knows how to have a good time- but knows when to "reel it in,"
handles correction well, and when it comes time to work she can get down to business!

Like Grand-mother, Like Grand-daughter!

Twigs' TRUMPETS!

2009

September 27- Woo-hoo!  I KNEW this was the girl for me!  She has so many of her mother's and father's good attributes that when I picked her...I knew I was going to have a fine pup on my hands!

Twiggy, Reid, and I traveled down to Greer, SC to a sanctioned "B Match."  A "B Match" is basically a "fun show" that doesn't carry any points.  For me, it is a good way to get the girls out and have them in a "show setting" without having to worry if they embarrass me from their antics!  Besides, they are just 4 months old, so it is not like they are really ready to go into the show ring and compete with "the big dogs!"

The Greenville Kennel Club had their match first.  I handed Reid off to a gal who owns Chesapeakes as pets.   Too bad I could not show both of them!  We went around and stacked the girls up and in the end, Twigs was Best of Breed!  So we got to go into the Sporting Group ring with other really nice puppies.  Twigs got beaten out by a REALLY nice Welsh Spring Spaniel and a VERY mature looking Golden Retriever and came out with a very respectable Group 3 ribbon!  Way to go Twigs!

For the Clemson Kennel Club show later in the day, it was almost the same scenario.  I passed Reid off to the same lady and I showed Twigs (I plan on NEVER showing them together at the same show...I do not think it would be "fair" to either one of them).  Around we went and Twigs was the Best of Breed again.  In Groups the same very nice Welsh Springer took Group 1 and then a very cute Flat Coat took Group 2 and Twigs took Group 3!  Consistency is KEY!

I am very proud of my girls!  They did so well for their "first" show!

They were doing a Canine Good Citizen test there and I tried to get the lady to test the girls, but she insisted that they had to be 6 months of age.  BUMMER.  I know they don't HAVE to be that old, but why argue...maybe we can find somewhere else to get the girls tested...
